As of 02 November, the confirmed cases of Covid-19 from 55 African countries have reached 1 785 484. The reported deaths in Africa reached 42 854 and recovered 455 116.
South Africa has the most cases reported – 725,452, with deaths numbering 19,276. Other countries most affected include Morocco (219,084), Egypt (107,555), Ethiopia (96,169), Nigeria (62,853) and Libya (6,1195).
The numbers are compiled by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University (world map) uses statistics from the World Health Organization and other international institutions as well as national and regional public health divisions.
