Covid-19 Death Toll Exceeds 43,000

Cape Town – As of 3 November, the confirmed cases of Covid-19 from 55 African countries reached 1,803,413. The reported deaths in Africa reached 43,390 and recovered 1,473,556.

South Africa has the most cases – 727,595 – with 19,465 deaths. Other countries most affected include Morocco (225,070), Egypt (107,925) Ethiopia (96,942), Nigeria (63,036) and Libya (62,907).

The numbers are compiled by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University (world map) using statistics from the World Health Organization and other international institutions as well as national and regional public health departments.
