continent approaches 1.5 million Covid-19 recovery

As of November 5, the confirmed cases of Covid-19 from 55 African countries reached 1,814,278. The reported deaths in Africa reached 43,940 and the recovery 1490,005.

South Africa has the most reported cases – 730 548, with deaths numbering 19 585. Other countries most affected include Morocco (235,310), Egypt (108,329), Ethiopia (97,881), Libya (64,587) and Tunisia (64,363).

The numbers are compiled by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University (world map) uses statistics from the World Health Organization and other international institutions as well as national and regional public health divisions.
