continent is close to 1.9 million confirmed cases of Covid-19

As of November 9, the confirmed cases of Covid-19 from 55 African countries reached 1,882,818. The reported deaths in Africa reached 45,360 and the recurrences 1,587,135.

South Africa has the most cases reported – 737,278, with deaths numbering 19,809. Other countries most affected include Morocco (256,781), Egypt (109,201), Ethiopia (99,675), Tunisia (71,119) and Libya (68,117).

The numbers are compiled by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University (world map) uses statistics from the World Health Organization and other international institutions as well as national and regional public health divisions.
