26 players in Egypt will face Togo

Egypt coach Hossam El Badry has recalled 26 players for the Pharaohs squad that will meet Togo in Group G’s double head of the Cameroon 2021 qualifying Africa tournament in 2021.

After a bad start, which Egypt was able to collect just two points from as many matches, the record of seven times hopes to bounce back when they host Togo on November 14 and three days later in Lomé at the Cairo International Stadium.

Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah has returned to the squad that included five players abroad, namely Salah, Aston Villa’s Mahmoud “Trezeguet” Hassan, Arsenal’s Mohamed Elneny, Olympiacos striker Ahmed “Koka” Hassan and Saudi Arabia, Ittihad defender Ahmed Hegazy.

There was a debut recall for ENPPI striker Mohamed Sherif. Borrowed by the giant Al Ahly, Sheriff had a season to remember as he scored 14 goals in the Egyptian Premier League to finish as second top scorer, three behind Pharaoh captain Abdullah El Said.

Egypt recorded a shocking 1-1 draw against Kenya, ahead of an even more surprising goalless draw with Comoros last November. They are third in Group G behind the Comoros (4 points) and Kenya (2 points), while Togo follows the point with a single point.
