Besong unveils South Sudan group ahead of Uganda’s double header

South Sudan coach Ashu Cyprian Besong has named his last 26 for the upcoming 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Uganda.

The Bright Stars gaffer recalled fifteen foreign and eleven locally based players ahead of Match Day 3 scheduled for 12 November 2020 in Kampala, while the return match takes place four days later at the Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi, Kenya.

The little known Gudele FC Juba goalkeeper, Nasir Haidar Ishka, was among the surprise.

Wani Evans Adebo and Wol Makueth Akeen who are currently playing their trade in the Uganda Premier League are some of the most notable players in the South Sudan team alongside Tito Okello Odong, the Kenyan champion Gor Mahia.

The team was mostly dominated by the players who faced off in two friendly matches in Cameroon last month, both of which ended in a draw.

South Sudan lost Group B after losing 1-0 to Malawi before falling 2-1 at home to Burkina Faso.
