the continent passes the two million mark for the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases

As of November 20, the confirmed cases of Covid-19 from 55 African countries reached 2,028,207. The reported deaths in Africa reached 48,702 and recovered 1,711,359.

South Africa has the most cases – 759 658, with deaths 20 671. Other countries most affected include Morocco (311 554), Egypt (1111955), Ethiopia (104,427), Tunisia (83,772) and Libya (76,006) in.

The numbers are compiled by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University (world map) using statistics from the World Health Organization and other international institutions as well as national and regional public health departments.
