FIFA ban CAF President Ahmad Ahmad

Ahmad gets a five-year ban for ‘financial mismanagement’.

Under fire Confederation of African Football President Ahmad Ahmad has been given a five-year ban, Zurich Associated Press reports.

The ethics committee of the world soccer governing body found that the CAF leader “violated his duty of loyalty, offered gifts and other benefits, mismanaged funds and abused his positions as CAF president.”

As president of CAF, Ahmad is also a vice-president of FIFA.

Ahmad is running for re-election as CAF chief for four years. In his first term, he faced the allegation of mismanagement.

The election is scheduled for March 2021.
