Netflix joins Ndlovu Youth Choir for festive cover

Netflix has teamed up with award-winning Ndlovu Youth Choir to perform a cover of the song called Square Root of Possible from the holiday movie Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Adventure.

The music video, shot in Johannesburg, is a beautiful display of Mzansi’s diverse talent.

The song is sung in 6 of the 12 official languages - English, seTswana, seSotho, isiZulu, isiNdebele and sePedi. ‘The challenge of recording a cover of this catchy tune remains true to the song, especially as we translate it into our six official languages. Because it’s such a beautiful song, we really wanted it to happen and that’s why we practiced for hours on end to ensure that we bring life to life in a way that stays true to the song, while also keeping our African torch summarise. ”- Nonhlanhla Somo, lead singer of the Ndlovu Youth Choir. The song has been transformed from an American-style play to an intrinsic African song that will surely inspire anyone who listens to it.

The Ndlovu Youth Choir has become one of the world’s most precious groups, known for their unique vocal arrangements, infectious energy and has inspired numerous individuals around the world. “Our music helps people to become the best version of themselves” – Ralf Shmidt, choir director.

The song is now available live on the Netflix SA social pages. We are disconnected Twitter, YouTube, Facebook and Instagram.
