The interim president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), mr. Constant Omari, praised the staff of the organization for their unwavering professionalism.
He spoke during his first meeting with the staff of the continental football government after his recent appointment as the interim leader of the organization.
The 62-year-old met with staff at headquarters in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, on Sunday following the Emergency Committee’s decision last week to take the lead in the organization.
He was appointed to replace Ahmad Ahmad following the decision of the FIFA Ethics Committee to suspend the elected president of CAF.
Omari praised the efforts of the staff and said that they were determined with their work, despite the recent challenges the organization has faced.
“I want to compliment you on the dignity you displayed during the difficult moments, and for which we had to guarantee the continuity of our duty with regard to our rules and regulations,” Omari told staff during the meeting.
I accept the task assigned to me, and I will lead this noble mission diligently, thoughtfully, and responsibly. Be confident and aware of your daily tasks while maintaining the spirit and sense of responsibility – dedicated to the values we have shared for the past three and a half years.
“Our CAF is the governing body of African football, its manager, inspiration, and above all its important and indispensable organizer.
“You are the core of our confederation. The smooth running of the central administration and the management of our activities and programs are on your shoulders.”
