Nigeria: Enyimba Set to Topple Kwara Utd As Katsina Utd Eye Mfm’s Scalp

Enyimba FC of Aba will this afternoon battle formidable opponents, Akwa United in one of the midweek fixtures with the hope that victory will restore their leadership of the 2021 NPFL table.

Still basking in the euphoria of their Confederations Cup playoff triumph over rivals Rivers United, Enyimba are highly favoured to annex the three points in this week 12 tie.

However, Akwa United who had a crucial 1-0 win at home against Plateau United last week will also fancy their chances of returning home with at least a point from Aba.

Although both Enyimba and Kwara United are on 21 points, the ‘Afonja Warriors’ are presently on top based on superior goal difference but Enyimba have two games in hand.

Meanwhile, Kwara United, 0-1 losers at Enugu Rangers in week 11 will fight to maintain their leadership of the table when they welcome resurgent Abia Warriors in Ilorin.

However, it may not be a stroll in the park for Kwara United, if Abia Warriors recent 4-1 thumping of Warri Wolves is a signal to be taken seriously.

And after suffering a humiliating 0-3 loss at FC IfeanyiUbah, Katsina United will be hoping to win against MFM tomorrow in order to displace the Lagos side on the log.

Nasarawa United also have a chance to record their 6th win of the season when they host FC IfeanyiUbah in Lafia

Elsewhere, Plateau United will aim to bounce back against visiting Jigawa Golden Stars who piped Nasarawa United 1-0 in Kaduna and miserable Adamawa United without a win since the beginning of the season may have their woes compounded by Lobi Stars when they clash tomorrow in Gombe.

Pillars who also stand a chance of topping the table for the first time this season should both Enyimba and Kwara slip at home will engage embattled Sunshine Stars in Kaduna, well rested Wikki Tourists welcome Rangers, Heartland face Dakkada FC in Okigwe just as clawless Wolves may be drowned by Rivers United in Warri.
