Tunisia: Over 146,000 Candidates Sit for Baccalaureate Exam Starting Wednesday

Tunis/Tunisia — A total of 146,129 candidates on Wednesday started sitting for the main session of the baccalaureate exam, which will last until June 23.

The results of this session will be announced on July 4 and the re-sit session will be held on July 6, 7, 8 and 9. The final results will be announced on July 17.

Minister of Education Fethi Sellaouti said that the number of candidates for this exam is the highest since 2008 (165 thousand), pointing to an increase of 12 thousand candidates compared to last year.

The Minister also assured, during a press conference held last Monday, that all means of protection against the coronavirus have been provided to educational staff and students in all examination centres, adding that as part of the exceptional measures adopted to prevent the coronavirus, the number of candidates in each room will not exceed 15 students.

Special arrangements are being made for 27 candidates with mild disabilities and 61 blind candidates.
