Tunis/Tunisia — The National Union of Tunisian journalists (SNJT) warned the citizens, authorities and public and private structures against those who usurp the capacity of journalist.
In a statement released on Thursday, the SNJT said that outsiders to the sector had issued press cards to people who do not belong to the corps of journalists, adding that only the national commission in charge of granting the professional journalist’s card and the SNJT are empowered to do so.
The union recalled in this regard, that usurpation of identity is a crime punishable by law, calling on the competent authorities to shoulder their responsibilities and counteract these practices.
