Tunisia: Training in E-Commerce and Digital Marketing Targets 120 Tunisian Enterprises

Tunis/Tunisia — One hundred and twenty Tunisian enterprises will be trained in the e-commerce and digital marketing fields, as part of the project «Promotion of Export Activities to New Markets in Sub-Saharan Africa» (PEMA II).

A call for applications has already been launched for this training, scheduled for January to June 2022 in the governorates of Tunis, Beja, Sousse and Gafsa, the Export Promotion Centre (CEPEX) said on Tuesday.

The selected enterprises will initially receive training every week for a period of 4 months and will then move on to a stage of individual support by young professionals already trained to put into practice the knowledge acquired.

The training, which will be provided by national and international experts, aims to improve the Tunisian enterprises’ digital capacities, to help them better exploit digital media and channels to promote their products and develop their exports, and to improve their access to new markets in sub-Saharan Africa.All resident Tunisian enterprises that have been in business for at least two years and operate in any sector except public works, employing between 6 and 199 people, are eligible for this call for applications.

Enterprises must also have a finished product/service ready for export and have carried out at least one export operation or intend to export within the next 12 months.

Applicants must also have computer equipment and an internet connection at the enterprise’s premises, an active website or a page on social networks.

Applications from women are highly encouraged. Childcare will be provided by the project during the training days, the same source indicated. Applications will be accepted through a form on the following address: www.pema-programme-appui.tn, to be completed and sent before November 30, 2021.

The PEMA II project is mandated by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by GIZ Tunisia in partnership with the Ministry of Trade and Export Development and CEPEX and aims to tap into the commercial potential of the new markets in sub-Saharan Africa.
