Tunis/Tunisia — Two people were killed on Wednesday morning in a gas explosion in a building located in the Avicenne neighbourhood south of the capital.
They are a man aged 46 and a child aged one and a half, said spokesman for the Civil Protection Colonel Major Moez Triaâ to TAP.
The incident occurred at 7:30 a.m. due to a gas leak in a ground floor and two-storey building, the same source explained.
The explosion caused the collapse of the two floors in addition to cracks in the ground floor and in the neighbouring houses, he indicated.
A 43-year-old woman and a young man living in the building were injured, the official said, adding that they were taken to the Ben Arous Trauma and Burns Centre.
