TWELVE days ago, Diana Marua seized the opportunity of Valentine’s Day to ‘surprise’ her husband with a brand new German machine a Mercedes Benz.
However many didn’t notice the German machine is actually not just any kind of Benz but a Maybach one of the most expensive rides from the manufacturing firm.
And while posting lovely pictures of herself and Bahati all acting lovey-dovey besides the Maybach that had no registration numbers, Diana recalled how only two years ago she’d hired a car to surprise him on his birthday and vowed to buy him a car.
“… I proclaimed, believed, and trusted God that one day, I’ll gift you a car under your name. God answers prayers, this is my Testimony. Two years later, I proudly gift my hub with a Brand New Mercedes Benz, the Newes baby under #The Bahatis” she wrote.
However, a majority of netizens and fans appeared to struggle to believe Diana’s surprise. Some questioned how was she able to afford such a car yet all her life since meeting Bahati she has always played a housewife.
Others reminisced the 2018 incident when Diana pulled the same stunt this time with a Ranger Rover estimated to cost between Sh10 to Sh15 million.
It was during Bahati’s 25th birthday and the two lovers executed the fake script perfectly.
However, despite owning up to her recent surprise that indeed the 2018 Range Rover gift was all a hoax, Diana now insists the Mercedez Maybach gift is real.
To those who still don’t believe the gift to be real, Diana has defended herself saying she had been saving for the last two years to buy her lover the German machine.
“I do so many things, my Youtube Channel is one of the biggest channels that is watched worldwide you know so I make my own money and I’m proud unajua I have gone out of my way nilisave. My king deserves also the best. I am happy I proved to the world that you know what, I can also get out there, hustle, and do something for the man that I love.” she said.
The Maybach S560 and S650 sedans that are stretched versions of the Mercedes Benz S Class, one of the series which Diana claims to have gifted Bahati, goes for between $172,000 (Sh18.9 million) and $174,000 (Sh20 million).
One might help but wonder, does Diana who doesn’t feature among Kenya’s top Youtube earners at the moment having started her Youtube channel not so long ago even though it boast of 336,000 subscribers with 179 videos uploaded, and also taking into consideration a few endorsement deals she landed, was this hustle enough to raise such a staggering amount for a Maybach purchase?
Or is it just another gimmick from The Bahatis?
