Cape Town — As of December 9, 2021, confirmed cases of Covid-19 from 55 African countries reached 8,803,411 while over 157,091,842 vaccinations have been administered across the continent.
Reported deaths in Africa reached 224,138 and 8,118,558 people have recovered. South Africa has the most reported cases 3,071,064 and 90,038 people died. Other most-affected countries are Morocco ( 950,946 ), Tunisia ( 718,866 ), Libya ( 376,378 ), Ethiopia ( 372,588 ), Egypt ( 365,831 ) and Kenya ( 255,652 ).
