Africa: Confirmed Covid-19 Cases, Deaths Climb Across Continent

As of January 14, 2022, confirmed cases of Covid-19 from 55 African countries reached 10,233,431  while over  204,241,949 vaccinations have been administered across the continent.

Reported deaths in Africa reached  232,732 and  9,083,385 people have recovered. South Africa has the most reported cases  3,546,808 and  92,989  people died. Other most-affected countries are Morocco (  1,025,898 ), Tunisia (  756,155 ), Ethiopia (  453,128 ), Egypt ( 395,688  ), Libya  (  395,687 )  and Kenya (  315,665 )

The numbers are compiled by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University (world map) using statistics from the World Health Organization and other international institutions as well as national and regional public health departments.
