The Cyber Africa Forum (CAF) 2023 will Convene Key Decision-makers in Cyber Security and Digital Trust in Africa around a Comprehensive and Substantive Program

The third edition of the Cyber Africa Forum (CAF) will be held at the Sofitel Abidjan Hotel Ivoire (Côte d’Ivoire) on April 24 th and 25 th of April 2023. This year’s edition will tackle a pressing theme: “Challenges, actors and partnerships: the solutions to secure Africa’s digital transformation. The forum will address the necessity of adopting cross-cutting comprehensive approaches to cyber security on the continent and the need to reinforce multisectoral and transnational partnerships in cyber security.

Co-organized this year in partnership with the “Forum International de la Cybersécurité” (FIC), the CAF will bring together more than 1,200 participants, notably economic players, key decision-makers from both the public and private sectors, CISOs, CIOs, tech entrepreneurs and Fintechs.

This two-day event will feature conferences, roundtables, workshops, side events, BtoB lunches, and networking sessions. Discussions and debates will cover the state of cyberattacks in Africa; digital transformation strategies for companies, organizations, administrations, and local authorities; the digitalization of the financial sector and public administrations; data security and responsible and ethical use of data; artificial intelligence and the challenges of cyber-diplomacy.

The Cyber Africa Women Initiative will celebrate African women’s talents and endeavors in the digital sector. Furthermore, a cyber crisis management awareness exercise will gather the attending decision-makers so as to encourage concrete actions toward countering current and future threats. A hackathon will also bring together about thirty candidates around various ethical hacking challenges. The first three to complete the challenge will be rewarded. Finally, prizes will be awarded to figures who have enormously contributed to the strengthening of African cybersecurity.

Many top-tier companies have confirmed their attendance, such as Cybastion, Deloitte, CCDOC, Mastercard, Ecobank, Kaspersky, Data Protect, KMT, Mitrelli SaH Analytics International and Camenki.

Moreover, high-level personalities will be present, notably:

  • Amadou Coulibaly, Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Spokesperson for the Government of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire,
  • Aurélie Adam Soulé Zoumarou, Minister of Digital and Digitization of the Republic of Benin,  
  • Patrick Muyaya Katembwe, Minister of Communications and Media of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC),
  • Ousmane Gaoual Diallo, Minister of Posts, Telecommunications, and Digital Economy of the Republic of Guinea.

Franck Kié, General Commissioner of the Cyber Africa Forum stated: “Africa has an enormous digital potential that can only be reached if we address in tandem the opportunities and challenges of a safe and secure digital transformation to ensure the safety of African companies and organizations regardless of their size.
